About Us

Urology Institute of the South Bay was established in 1990 when Doctors James Mollenkamp and Marc Stratton joined with Martin Ross and Gene Naftulin.

In 2002, after 25 years of caring for patients, Dr. Ross retired from practice, and Dr. Kambiz Dardashti was recruited from Cornell and Memorial Sloan Kettering.  He brought with him extensive training in minimally invasive surgery.

In 2005, the Institute moved to its larger current location at Telo Medical Center, offering comfortable clinic rooms, and the latest equipment and technology for office-based urologic procedures.

Our offices are conveniently located less one mile from Torrance Memorial Hospital, and two miles from Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital at Torrance.

Most recently in 2012, Dr. Lawrence Flechner was recruited to the Institute from UC San Francisco where he brings expertise in robotic and laparoscopic surgery.

Today, the Urology Institute of the South Bay is among the most highly respected urologic practices in the South Bay, where each member brings unique strengths to the practice.  We welcome you to our website, and stand committed to improving the lives of our patients with personalized and state-of-the-art care.

“We are also committed to innovation in our field, and we deliver care that is evidence-based and state-of-the art.”
